What Is on the NATE Core Exam?

The NATE Core exam is the first exam every NATE candidate takes. It has 50 questions and you need 70% (35 correct) to pass. Core checks the knowledge every HVACR technician uses on every call: working safely, using tools and meters, understanding heat and pressure, basic electricity, and handling refrigerant.

These 10 practice tests follow the same topics. Each test has 30 questions with a full explanation for every answer. Start with Test 1 and work up — later tests mix topics together, like the real exam.
