Resistors are the most common component in electronics, and reading their color code is a core skill. Each colored band on a resistor represents a digit, a multiplier, or a tolerance. A standard 4-band resistor has two significant-digit bands, a multiplier band, and a tolerance band. Learn the color-to-number sequence (black=0, brown=1, red=2, orange=3, yellow=4, green=5, blue=6, violet=7, gray=8, white=9) and you can read any resistor value at a glance, without a meter.
