Before you start, review these key rules: In retail stores, each receptacle counts as 180 VA for load calculation (NEC 220.14(I)). Dwelling unit general lighting = 3 VA per square foot (NEC Table 220.12). Motor branch circuit conductors must be rated at least 125% of motor FLC (NEC 430.22(A)). An inverse time circuit breaker for a motor circuit is rated at a maximum of 250% of motor FLC (NEC Table 430.52). GFCI protection is required in dwelling unit bathrooms (NEC 210.8(A)(1)). No point along a dwelling unit wall may be more than 6 feet from a receptacle (NEC 210.52(A)). Rigid metal conduit (RMC) buried underground only requires 6 inches of cover (NEC Table 300.5). In a purely capacitive circuit, current leads voltage by 90 degrees.
